FAQ
The questions partners ask before they commit.
Common questions
- Is Music to the Ears a music program?
- No. Music is one of ten Creative Pathways. The organization runs media, design, video, podcast, photography, performance, events, entrepreneurship, and technology programming alongside it.
- What is the difference between .org and .education?
- musictotheears.org is the foundation - mission, community implementation, initiatives, impact, partnerships, and philanthropy. musictotheears.education is the dedicated K-12 platform for schools and education decision-makers.
- What does a program cost?
- It depends on scope, setting, duration, and how it is funded. Music to the Ears does not publish pricing because a single number would be wrong for nearly every partner. Scope conversations are free and quick.
- Do you only work in Los Angeles?
- Los Angeles is where the deepest relationships are. The Creative Cities Network exists precisely so that programming is not limited to one city.
- Can we run this ourselves afterwards?
- Yes, and several partners do. Where that is the goal, say so at the scope stage - it changes how the program is designed and what training is included.
- What is the relationship with Academix?
- Academix is a Creative Economy Platform: it designs the frameworks, standards, credentials, and systems. Music to the Ears Foundation is the Community Implementation Partner that activates them locally.
- Do you work with students outside of school?
- Yes. Libraries, community organizations, festivals, public spaces, and workforce programs are all delivery settings, not exceptions.
- How do we start?
- Tell us who you want to reach and roughly when. Everything else follows from that.
