The opportunity

Students encounter law every day, from business and housing to entertainment, family, civil rights, and social justice, but rarely have opportunities to explore how the legal system works or the range of careers available within it. Experiencing a law school environment firsthand can help students understand the contracts and legal aspects of creative careers.

The Music to the Ears approach

• Bring LAUSD students directly into a university and law school environment
• Connect students with law school staff, students, and practicing alumni
• Introduce multiple areas of law through real-world conversations and experiences
• Connect law, business, social justice, civic engagement, and career exploration

The experience

Students spent a full day at Loyola Law School learning alongside faculty, staff, law students, and practicing alumni. Through interactive sessions and conversations, students explored Sports & Entertainment Law, Real Estate Law, Business Law, Family Law, and Social Justice, gaining insight into how different areas of law affect careers, businesses, families, communities, and everyday life.
